Background & Experience
Ken started his professional career at the law firm of Dinsmore & Shohl as a trial lawyer and became an equity partner in the firm. He also served by appointment as a special prosecutor for the Sate of Ohio (on leave from the firm) in connection with the successful white collar criminal prosecution of executives of an Ohio savings & loan. Ken took on and represented successfully on a pro bono basis a Mississippi death row inmate before the US Supreme Court in a capital punishment case.
In 1993, Ken was recruited to go in-house at GE, first as the Chief Litigation Counsel for GE Aviation, and then was promoted to become Vice President & General Counsel for GE’s Oil & Gas business, headquartered in Florence, Italy (now Baker Hughes).
Ken continues to teach at the graduate and undergraduate level courses in business ethics and law. He has taught at the University of Georgia, Williams College of Business, Xavier University, Syracuse University in Florence and the Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University.
Ken served on the Integrity & Compliance task forces for the B20 (business liason to the G20 summit) for Saudi Arabia in 2020 and now for Italy in 2021.
History of ATRQ Global
When Ken retired from GE in 2014, he received a number of calls from global companies seeking his advice to improve and strengthen corporate compliance programs, general risk management and related matters. As a consequence, Ken founded ATRQ Global LLC, a firm which has continued to consult with a broad range of public and private companies, state owned enterprises, private equity firms in many sectors, including energy, telecom, hospitality & travel, and industrial/engineering.
For larger projects, ATRQ Global has the capability to bring together the right subject matter experts and legal and legal professionals as appropriate to the assignment.
